Tweets About Treason

The following are tweets from March 12 and March 13 concerning trumper treason. Treasonish in that the actions being tweeted about concern collusion with Russia to elect and (later) to protect the Putin puppet, d0nald tRump.

This first one is from Malcolm Nance, author of The Plot To Hack America. Wikipedia says the "non-fiction book... [is] about what the author describes as Russian interference in the 2016 United States elections".

"What the author describes" must be some of that "liberal bias" Conservatives complain exists in online resources and fact checking sites. Although Malcolm is a (former Republican). In this tweet, Malcolm talks about the recent House "investigation" into whether or not Russia tried to influence our elections and whether or not d0nald tRump colluded with Russian operatives.

House Republicans, with their sham investigation (headed up by the "recused" tRump stooge Devin Nunes) are participating in a "Benedict Arnold MOVEMENT". They are all traitors, in other words. The "Benedict Arnold moment", btw, that Nance references concerns Trump and his campaign colluding with Russia.

Which is NOT to say that Nance believes anyone (tRump, people who were a part of the Trump campaign or Congressional Republicans protecting Trump) will be charged with treason. That is highly unlikely. Even if their actions could RIGHTLY be described as treasonous.

Dictionary.com defines treason as "a violation of allegiance to one's sovereign or to one's state". Section 3 of article 3 of the Constitution more narrowly defines treason. Basically, because we are not in a declared war with Russia, tRump and associates can't (and won't) be charged with treason.

But, as per the non-Constitutional definition, my verdict is guilty. Or, it sure as hell looks like there is treason here. tRump and associates were quite eager to collude with Russia and their cut-out, WikiLeaks.

My reference to WikiLeaks as a Russian cut-out, which is "in espionage parlance... a mutually trusted intermediary, method or channel of communication that facilitates the exchange of information between agents", is via Malcolm Nance. As per a 10/2/2016 Nance tweet "WikiLeaks is a Russian intelligence run cybercrime laundromat".

But back to the trumpy treason. As per the authors of the new book, Russian Roulette by Michael Isikoff and David Corn, Vice President (at the time) Joe Biden used the word after being presented with Christopher Steele's dossier.

This tweet is "not found"...

"If this is true, it's treason". Vice President Joe Biden's reaction to learning the full scope of Russian interference in the 2016 election and interactions with people in trumpworld. Just one revelation from @DavidCornDC and @Isikoff's new book Russian Roulette. #maddow -- Joy Reid (@JoyAnnReid) March 13, 2018.

In this tweet MSNBC host Joy-Ann Reid references an appearance by Isikoff and Corn on the Rachel Maddow program. The authors previewed their new book in an interview with Rachel on 3/12/2018, during which they spoke about how Biden referred to what Trump is accused of in the Steele dossier as "treason".
